Issued by the National Weather Service at 1:44 am CST on March 14, 2010/
... Dense fog advisory in effect until 10 am MDT /11 am CDT/ this
morning...
The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 10 am MDT /11 am CDT/ this
morning.
* Timing/duration... dense fog will continue to spread across the
area during the overnight hours. Reduced visibilities will
common through the night and will begin to improve after 8 am
MDT (9 am cdt).
* Visibility info... visibilities will fall less than a quarter of
a mile at times and may change suddenly over short distances.
* Other impacts... this fog deck will impact Interstate 70 between
Burlington and Oakley... motorists in this area should use
caution. With temperatures below freezing a few slick spots may
develop overnight... but with warm ground this will likely only
occur on elevated surfaces.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A dense fog advisory means visibility will frequently be less
than one quarter mile in fog. If driving... slow down and be
prepared for sudden drops in visibility... especially near
rivers... creeks and low lying areas. Use your headlights on low
beams and drive defensively.
